Shandong Province Seeds Group Co., Ltd. Participates in the 2026 Zhejiang Province New Tomato Variety Conference and Tomato Industry High-Quality Development Symposium
On March 18, 2026, the 2026 Zhejiang New Tomato Variety Conference and Tomato Industry High-Quality Development Symposium was grandly held in Cangnan, concurrently with the Cangnan ‘Colorful Agriculture’ Carnival. Shandong Province Seeds Group Co., Ltd. participated with its core varieties – the pink-fleshed tomato ‘Fenniya’ and the flavor tomato ‘Lilang’ – which received high recognition from attending experts, growers, and distributors due to their stable field performance and outstanding commercial characteristics.

The conference focused on tomato variety innovation and industry quality improvement, showcasing new domestic and international high-quality tomato varieties, simplified cultivation techniques, and green prevention and control technologies, establishing a platform for research exchange, variety observation, and production-marketing connection. In the on-site display area, the two featured tomato varieties performed exceptionally well. ‘Fenniya’ is an indeterminate premium pink-fleshed tomato with high-round fruits, uniform size, high firmness, crack resistance, good storage and transportability, strong continuous fruit-setting ability, and excellent heat tolerance. ‘Lilang’ is an indeterminate flavor tomato with nearly round fruits, a balanced sweet-sour taste, and a unique flavor profile. Participants generally agreed that the two varieties demonstrate commercial traits and adaptability well-suited to high-quality tomato production needs in many regions, with broad promotion prospects.

This participation further deepened our cooperative engagement in tomato products in the southeastern region, fully demonstrating its research, development, and promotion capabilities in the tomato variety sector. Next, we will continue to optimize its tomato variety portfolio, strengthen integrated services combining improved varieties with sound cultivation practices, and contribute to the quality and efficiency improvement of the tomato industry in Zhejiang province and nationwide, supporting the high-quality development of the modern vegetable industry.
Mr. Chao Liang, Director of the Qingdao Office and Manager of the Solanaceous Fruit Promotion Department, and Mr. Yukun Xing, Deputy Regional Sales Manager for Southwest China and Deputy Manager of the Leafy Vegetable Crop Promotion Department, participated in this conference.
