Through these robust varieties and cutting-edge technologies, the company is building a bridge for exchange between the eastern and western seed industries and contributing to the high-quality development of the seed industry in the Northwest.

Pingluo, Ningxia, is home to a national-level vegetable seed breeding base. Its industry slogan, ‘The best seeds are in Ningxia; Pingluo's high-quality seeds are renowned across the nation,’ has earned it nationwide acclaim, making it a core platform for connecting seed industry resources between eastern and western China and for conducting regional variety trials. This year’s Ningxia Seed Industry Expo is the largest and most specialized event of its kind in Northwest China, bringing together more than 130 seed companies and over 500 industry buyers from across the country for business negotiations. Featuring both indoor exhibition booths and a 100-mu field display, the event showcases more than 4,000 new varieties of melons, vegetables and grains.

During the exhibition, the company, taking into account the cultivation characteristics of Ningxia and the Northwest region, presented a targeted portfolio of its core, high-performance varieties. The exhibition highlighted varieties well-suited to the Northwest growing region, such as heat-tolerant premium firm-fleshed tomatoes, high-end curly kale and mini-watermelons, while simultaneously showcasing corresponding field cultivation technical solutions. This attracted a large number of local Ningxia seed companies, farming cooperatives, and agricultural supply dealers to stop by, observe, sample and exchange insights. In addition to the variety exhibition, the company’s marketing team actively participated in concurrent events such as the Seed Industry Development Symposium. They held in-depth discussions with representatives from research institutes across the country and leading domestic seed companies, exchanging ideas on topics including East-West seed industry collaboration, the upgrading of new and superior vegetable varieties, and the integration of production and sales of high-quality seeds across regions, resulting in several preliminary cooperation agreements.

Leveraging more than three decades of expertise in breeding research and development and international trade, the company will continue to breed high-quality seeds suited for both open-field and protected-culture cultivation in Northwest China, and provide standardized, comprehensive planting technologies. Through seed technology, the company aims to help farmers in Northwest China increase their income and improve the quality of specialty agriculture, thereby contributing the strength of Shandong seeds to the nation’s efforts to achieve self-reliance and self-strengthening in the seed industry and ensure the security of agricultural product supply.
